Billing by HOAI
The German HOAI (fee schedule for architects and engineers) regulates fees for planning services. teamspace supports HOAI billing via percentage positions and base values.
HOAI in brief
The HOAI (“Honorarordnung für Architekten und Ingenieure”) is a German federal regulation governing fees for architects and engineers. The current version dates from January 2021. It defines nine service phases — from basic evaluation through design to site supervision — and a fee structure based on fee zones and construction costs. Since 2021 the fee tables are guidance rather than binding.
Billing by HOAI with teamspace
HOAI billing is essentially a series of percentage shares applied to a defined total. teamspace supports this directly.
- Define the total value of the planning or construction service via a base value. It is shown on the document but isn’t billed itself — it acts as the reference for percentage positions.
- Add a section for the service phases and enter the percentage share per position. The system computes the amount automatically.
- Change the rate or the base, and dependent positions update. Surcharges (e.g. for listed buildings) work the same way.
