New billing options for flat rates

Flat rates appear in many orders. teamspace's rule-based articles bill them automatically — even with complex conditions.

Flat rates billed more easily

Flat rates added to every invoice are simple. It gets harder when they should be billed by rule — based on travel duration, number of overnight stays or other criteria. teamspace ships a new rule article that handles flat rates under complex conditions automatically.

Example scenarios

1. Simple maintenance flat rate

A PV maintenance company bills working hours plus a fixed €50 fee for checking the energy storage system, regardless of how long the check takes. Maintenance time on a storage system is booked on a separate “Storage maintenance” position; the rule article puts the flat rate on the invoice instead of the hourly rate.

2. Tiered travel flat rate

To avoid overly long tours, an extra €100 flat rate kicks in once travel exceeds two hours. The rule article checks the booked travel time automatically — over two hours, the surcharge is added; otherwise, regular billing applies.

3. Complex overnight flat rate

A consulting team gets a €300 overnight flat rate when:

  • staying with the client for at least two days, and
  • working at least six hours on site per day.

The rule article checks billable travel time. If at least two consecutive days each show six work hours, the overnight flat rate applies.

The solution for your billing

For complex flat-rate billing, rule articles in the teamspace invoicing software are an ideal fit.
