In our example, you would like to add Ms. Ignis Lumen as a contact — she is the managing director of “Licht? Ja! AG”, a manufacturer of lighting products.
1. Adding an organisation
Once you have received the company data of a new prospect, the first step is usually to add the organisation in teamspace. To do so, open CRM in the main menu. Use the ”+” button to open the dialog for creating an organisation.
In this dialog you can enter general information such as the name and address. The minimum required is a name. If available, you can also enter commercial data.
When the dialog is filled, click Next.
You are now in the organisation overview, where all related information is shown. You see, among other things, a timeline that lists every item created in teamspace in chronological order. Since “Licht? Ja! AG” was just added, the timeline is initially empty.
Under the Master data tab in the detail manager menu you can store a wide range of information about the organisation, which you can then analyse and report on.
If you have customer information for which there is no suitable default field in the master data, additional fields can be added. Custom fields per your requirements can be configured.
2. Adding a contact inside a known organisation
Next we add the managing director, Ms. Ignis Lumen, to the system. You can do this directly from the organisation. In the Overview tab, on the right under Recently edited items, you find the Contacts area.
Click the ”+” button to open the contact creation dialog. Alternatively, switch to the Contacts tab in the organisation’s detail manager menu.
As with the organisation, you can enter general information about the contact here. Since the contact is created from inside a company, that company is already pre-filled.
Once you have entered everything important, click Next. As with the organisation, you are routed to the Overview of the contact. There you find the timeline of all items created in teamspace for Ms. Lumen. Under Master data you can store additional information.
3. Adding contacts without an organisation
You can also add contacts in teamspace that do not belong to an organisation. Select CRM in the main menu. Use the ”+” button to open the contact creation dialog. Enter the information about the contact and leave the Organisation field empty.
